Vimeo videos will work on iOS - my reference device is a first-gen iPad. However, when wrapped by Universal Subtitles, the video content will not load. I'm assuming this is because US is calling Vimeo's Moogaloop player, not the universal player. Is this because the universal player is iframe based? Are there technical limitations, or is this just an artifact of using an older API? Is there any way Universal Subtitles can be used with Vimeo in an iOS compatible way?

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in UniversalSubtitles.org.

I am sorry if this sounds disappointing, but you are right that the use of Vimeo videos is currently not supported on iOS.

If you need to subtitle or play with subtitles a video from Vimeo.com, you can use a desktop or a laptop with any modern browser. Sorry for the inconvenience!
