I would like to transcribe and translate some Uyghur-language videos, but I don't see that option in your current list of languages. Uyghur typically uses a modified Arabic/Persian script; Is that a problem for Universal Subtitles?

Uyghur also uses a Latin script (UKY - Uyghur Computer Language) that doesn't have any special characters. If the non-Latin script is a reason that Uyghur hasn't been included in your list of languages yet, would it be possible to add a UKY option?

Thanks so much!

    Hi Gavin,

Thank you for your interest in UniversalSubtitles!

I have filed a change request to include Uyghur (ISO 639-2 "ug") into the list of languages at This is most likely to go live with the next release - please stay tuned for updates!
